The former midfielder finished his career at the Santiago Bernabeu on a high, having played an influential role in the club’s 2023/24 UEFA Champions League and LALIGA triumph.

Now, however, it is reported that the 34-year-old has been offered an early return to the club, although not as a player this time around.

According to Central DefenseReal have offered Kroos a new role in the coaching staff under manager Carlo Ancelotti.

It is claimed the Los Blancos leadership sees potential in the former midfielder, and that they believe his comprehensive knowledge and experience of the game could prove valuable for the team.

Moreover, Real want to leverage the ex-star’s ongoing coaching course, hoping it will lead to a bigger role for him within the club.

Kroos’ stellar 2023/24 season remains fresh in the memory of some of his former teammates, with Federico Valverde recently remarking that his former senior teammate deserved to with the Ballon d’Or award.

“I would have given Toni Kroos a Ballon d’Or. I hesitated taking his number 8 [after his retirement],” the Uruguay international told Football.

“Deep down, I wanted it more than anything. But I had doubts… the fear of not being up to par.

“We are talking about a player that marked history at this club and in football.”
