Morocco national team coach Walid Regragui said that Manchester United star Noussair Mazraoui may return to play during the upcoming international break.

Mazraoui (26 years old) will be absent from the field while recovering from surgery, and was forced to withdraw from the Moroccan squad that is competing in the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The former Ajax Amsterdam and Bayern Munich right-back underwent surgery after suffering from heart palpitations. He was expected to be out of action for a long time, but he may return before that.

The British newspaper “The Sun” reported that a source at Manchester United said that the right-back suffers from a “relatively common condition” and is therefore expected to make a full recovery.

The Regragui coach is also optimistic and hopes that Mazraoui will be ready to play during the next international break in November.

He said, “Nassir Mazraoui is not suffering from a serious illness. We hope that he will be with us in the next camp in November.”

Mazraoui impressed everyone since his move to Old Trafford in the summer with a 4-year contract, and was always present in the right-back position, where he participated in 10 matches.

Mazraoui played under the leadership of United’s current Dutch coach, Erik Ten Hag, at Ajax, for whom he played between 2017 and 2022. He won 3 league titles with the Dutch club and another with Bayern Munich, whose shirt he wore between 2022 and 2024.
