On Wednesday, journalist Didier Roustan died at the age of 66. The news sparked multiple reactions, including that of the former Manchester United player.

Platini, Fernandez, Micoud… many former footballers have reacted to the death of Didier Roustan. The former presenter of Téléfoot and president “for life” of L’Equipe du soir died at the age of 66 during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. News that has plunged the world of football and journalism into mourning.

On his Instagram account, former Manchester United number 7 Eric Cantona paid tribute to his «ami» with whom he had commentated the 1994 World Cup in the United States. “Great sadness to learn of the death of Didier Roustan. For me he was the greatest sports journalist. Intelligent, lively with a great sense of image.”he captioned a black and white photo of Didier Roustan.

Before saying goodbye to him for good: “We did so much together including the creation of the first players’ union with Maradona. I will miss him. Rest in peace my friend.”
