The owner of Villa Razzolini Loredan in Asolo where Sammy Basso passed away on Saturday 5 October tells the story of the last moments of the young researcher’s life.

Shortly after midnight we saw the room come alive in an unnatural way: Sammy had felt ill and his friends were trying to revive him. An ambulance was immediately called, but there was nothing that could be done. It was a matter of minutes.”

«He said I can’t breathe» says Dussin, moved. The restaurateur, alerted by his daughter that he was in the villa, arrived shortly after midnight and found himself faced with a scene that deeply affected him: «Mom held Sammy in her arms. I knelt next to her and her father: him he had already flown into the sky. He was a great man, who taught us a lot”

Dussin had known Sammy since he was a child: «He was one of those people who leaves something special in your soul – he comments -.
