Raja’s motto remains “The end is the last”, as the Greens will play their first match in the championship today, Saturday, against a heavyweight team, the size of the Renaissance Sportive Berkane. This match shows, on several levels, that the Moroccan champion’s mission to remain at the top will not be easy.

First, the Green Eagles will be called upon to adopt a new football philosophy, supervised by Bosnian Rosmir Zviko, who replaced the mastermind of the double coronation (the championship and the Throne Cup) and the one who was credited with not inflicting any defeat on the Greens, the German Josef Zinnbauer.

On the other hand, the club’s new management team, led by Adel Hala, who is tasked with temporarily managing the club until the next general assembly is held to elect a new office, will have to ensure some managerial success, which is essential for the stability of any team on and off the pitch.

With their first official exit, Brigadier Anas Zniti’s teammates succeeded in revealing their intentions well, as they achieved two victories, home and away, against the National Guard Sports Association of Niger (7-1 in both matches) and qualified for the first preliminary round of the African Champions League.

This good performance reflects that Raja aims to achieve something greater than local duality, namely success on various fronts.

To achieve this, the Green Castle team, of course, relies on the “old guard”, led by the veteran Anas Zniti and Mohamed Zrida, who will also be supported by new signings, such as Hilal El Ferdossi and the new goalkeeper Mehdi El Harrar.

Raja also achieved significant success by signing Mauritanian player Mohsen Bouda from rival Wydad AC, and former central defender for Esperance Sportive de Tunis, Hani Amamou.

Coach Rosmir Zviko’s squad will also be supported by left-back Abdelkrim Baadi, who came from Nahdat Berkane, Ivorian midfielder Serge Eric Zozo, who came from Ghana’s Asante Kotoko, and Congolese striker Philippe Kinzombe, a TP Mazembe player.

On the other hand, Raja will have to find a suitable combination to fill the void left by the departing players, especially striker Mehdi Mouhoub and midfielder Mohamed El Mekaazi.
