Paris 2024, more medals for the crimson paralympians

The successes of yesterday at the Paris 2024 Paralympics are renewed. One gold and two bronzes in swimming for the athletes of the Fiamme Oro.

After missing the podium on the first day of competition, Stefano Raimondi wins the gold medal in the 100m breaststroke SB9 at the Défense Arena. With a time of 1’05”91 he sets a new Italian record, dominating the race from the start and holding the position until the end with a good advantage over the French athlete.

Another success in the 100m freestyle S5 for Monica Boggioni who repeated yesterday’s result by obtaining third place in a duel to the last stroke with the Chinese athlete and closing the race in a final sprint that saw her record a time of 1’21”74.

Crimson swimmer Carlotta Gilli achieved her goal in the 100m backstroke S13 with a time of 1’08”08. Aware of the superiority of the first two, in a discipline that has recently been unfamiliar to her, she fought with determination, immediately maintaining third place, just a step away from the Irish athlete’s silver medal.

Francesco Bocciardo missed the podium in the final of the 100m freestyle S5, failing to repeat his success from the previous day in the double distance, obtaining only fourth place despite a race always attacking the top three.
