Chakib Benmoussa, Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, spoke on Thursday about Morocco’s current participation in the Paralympic Games, Paris 2024, stressing the great desire of all athletes to achieve outstanding results.

Benmoussa said in a statement to the Maghreb Arab Press Agency: “Moroccan athletes, both male and female, are motivated by a great desire to achieve outstanding results in the current Paralympic Games. The Moroccan delegation, in all its categories, enjoys high morale and harmony prevails among them, in addition to the consensus of all its components that the Paris Games must be the best.”

The same speaker added: “The qualification of 38 male and female athletes for this session is the result of the efforts of the universities and technical administrations, which extended over two years, without neglecting the support provided by the ministry by providing the appropriate conditions for good preparation. The results obtained by the Moroccan champions in the last Tokyo session were also excellent after they were able to win 11 medals.”

He continued: “Everyone was received in the best conditions, and all sports equipment and training grounds were provided for the Moroccan athletes participating in this session of the Paralympics.”

It is worth noting that Morocco has won 38 medals during the past Paralympic participations, 16 of which were gold, 11 silver, and 11 bronze, a large number of which were in athletics with 34 medals, while the other four medals varied in swimming, triathlon, and powerlifting. The national team also won the bronze medal in blind futsal.
