Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram was in a good mood after leading his team to a resounding win over Atalanta, and had some teasing remarks to towards his friend and teammate Nicolo Barella.
Both stars were on target on Friday night, as the Nerazzurri rooted their Lombardian neighbors by four unanswered goals.
It all began with an own goal courtesy of Berat Djimisit. Barella then produced a sensational volley to consolidate the early lead.
After the break, Thuram took over the show by scoring a personal brace. The Italian champions could have added more goals against the bemused La Dea, but were at times wasteful.
In the end, the French striker was chosen by Lega Serie A as the MVP of the match.
The 27-year-old was in a light-hearted mood, and decided to have some fun at Barella’s expense.
The former Borussia Monchengladbach star jokingly credited the Italian midfielder for his goal prowess.
“My goals? I try to watch how Barella does it on YouTube and imitate him, and it went well,” said Thuram in his post-match interview with DAZN via FcInterNews.
“It’s only the third matchday, I tried to play a great match against a very difficult opponent and I’m very happy with my performance.

On a more serious note, the Nerazzurri bomber applauded Barella for his knack of pulling off sensational goals, even in training.
“Barella only scores spectacular goals. Today he managed to do it again. He always scores those in training. I’m very happy for him.”
The France international has now placed himself on top of the Serie A goalscorer charts.
He had also scored a brace on the opening day against Genoa, so he has now raised his tally to four goals, overtaking Mateo Retegui who failed to find the back of the net this evening.
