“Winning again is even more difficult”

Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta only had words of praise for Atalanta ahead of tonight’s encounter. But he also dwelled on the qualities of his own club.

The two Lombardian rivals are locking horns at San Siro tonight in one of the most anticipated clashes of Serie A matchday 3.

Before kickoff, Marotta insisted that La Dea is no longer an outsider among the top clubs, but a genuine contender.

“Atalanta is no longer an ‘outsider’, but a protagonist in all competitions, whether in Italy or at the European level,” said the 67-year-old in his pre-match interview with DAZN via FcInterNews.

“I’m happy to face a team of such quality. For us, it’s an important test even if we’re still in the early stages of the season.”

Marotta lauded the Percassi family and Atalanta’s long-serving manager Gian Piero Gasperini for their exceptional work in Bergamo.

“Since the Percassi family has been there, the club has reached the highest levels thanks to a competent coach.

“Alongside the team that takes the field, there is a very strong management. This combination has led Atalanta to become a reality in Italy and Europe.”

Inter Milan President Beppe Marotta Heaps Praise On Atalanta

The Nerazzurri CEO admits that remaining on the winning track can be a challenging task. Nevertheless, he insists Inter have the right tools to achieve it.

“Winning is difficult. Winning again is even more so. But the mentality counts.

“Every game will be more difficult than the previous campaign, as the opponents will have strong motivations and we will have to have the same.

“We are a solid group from a managerial and technical point of view, I have very valid collaborators such as Ausilio, Baccin and Vice President Zanetti on one side.

“On the other, there is Inzaghi with his staff. All this can lead us to face all the challenges of this new season.”
