Prix ​​Goncourt: discover the first list

Who will succeed Jean-Baptiste Andrea and his novel? Watch over her ? The first selection has been made. It includes Gaël Faye and Kamel Daoud.

If we still don’t have a Prime Minister, we at least have the first list of the Goncourt. The Academy unveiled, this Tuesday, September 3, its first selection of the sixteen novels in the running for the most prestigious French literary prize, which will be awarded on November 4.

Among the confirmed authors, we note the names of Sandrine Collette, Kamel Daoud, Gaël Faye, Hélène Gaudy, Maylis de Kerangal widely acclaimed by critics. We note a first novel, Ruben Barrouk, published by Albin Michel. On the publishing house side, it is Gallimard who stands out with three novels. It is followed by Grasset and Albin Michel who each have two authors.

The authors in the running are all competing for the Goncourt des lycéens, except Gaël Faye and Carole Martinez who have already won it.

The judges will reveal their second and third lists on October 1 and 22. Join us on November 4 at the Drouant restaurant to find out the name of the winner.

The jury, chaired by Philippe Claudel, is composed of Didier Decoin, Françoise Chandernagor, Camille Laurens, Paule Constant, Pierre Assouline, Christine Angot, Pascal Bruckner, Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt and Tahar Ben Jelloun.
