Japanese woman commits suicide by jumping from shopping mall, killing passerby

The two women were taken to hospital with serious injuries and died shortly afterwards. The police have opened an investigation.

A 17-year-old high school girl jumped from a shopping mall in Yokohama, Japan on August 31, killing a 32-year-old woman walking below, Japanese media outlet NHK reported.

The student threw herself from the twelfth floor of the building in this busy shopping district, hitting the second victim who was out with three friends, the police said. Japan Times. Seriously injured, the two women were quickly taken to hospital, and died a few hours after their arrival.
