Rubik's Cube madness
In more than forty years, 450 million small colored cubes have been sold worldwide, including 100 million in the first year alone, in 1980. Basically, this puzzle, created by Erno Rubika former architect and professor at the School of Fine Arts in Budapest (Hungary), aimed to help his students better master 3D design. Today, the record for speed of solving the Rubik's Cube is held by the American Max Park : 3.13 seconds!

L'invasion Tamagotchi
This virtual creature, made up of a mini-LCD screen and suspended from a chain, was born in Japan in 1996. A year later, the Tamagotchi (from tamago: egg, and tchi, derived from watch: watch) floods France and the rest of the world. 40 million will be sold in just one year!

Pog's tidal wave
These collectible cardboard discs, bearing the image of a punk mascot named PogMan10 billion were sold around the world, between 1994 and 1998. They were born in Hawaii under the name POG, an acronym for Passion-Orange-Guavaa brand of fruit juice which decided to put it in its bottles at the end of the 80s. Genius!
