A rude awakening for Ukrainians, Wednesday December 25. At dawn, the air alarm sounded in kyiv. As requested by the authorities, residents went to metro stations to take shelter. The Ukrainian capital was spared, this time, by Russian strikes.

This is not the case for Kharkiv, the country's second city. The bombings targeted residential areas, as well as energy infrastructure. As a result, half a million people found themselves without electricity, heating and running water in the middle of winter.

In addition to Kharkiv, five other regions were targeted. At least one person was killed. The toll could have been much heavier. Russia has launched 70 missiles and more than 100 explosive drones.
