Video calls, live sharing… concert halls are adapting to the new uses of ultra-connected fans

INVESTIGATION – The Olympic Games allowed many performance venues to strengthen their 4G, 5G and wifi capabilities. But not all rooms are equal when it comes to these heavy investments in connectivity.

Video calls to share certain songs live with loved ones at home; sending photos and videos to messaging services; live streaming of videos on social networks…: the largest venue in Europe recorded 2,500 connections that evening. « A room of this size must be able to accommodate its audience with the appropriate technical means, says William Courant, director of information systems at Paris La Défense Arena.
