Last night, Russia struck energy infrastructure in seven regions of Ukraine

On the night of December 24-25, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched a new massive attack on Ukrainian energy infrastructure. According to Ukrainian state energy operator DTEK, this is the thirteenth massive attack on Ukraine's energy system this year.

The operator reported serious damage to its electrical equipment. “This is the 13th massive attack on Ukraine's energy sector this year and the 10th massive attack on the company's energy facilities”DTEK said on Telegram.

“The network manager takes the necessary measures to limit consumption in order to minimize the negative consequences for the energy system”, announced Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko on Telegram, specifying that consumption restrictions have been imposed in Ukraine to deal with the consequences of Russian strikes on the energy sector.

An air alert was issued across Ukraine at dawn on Wednesday, as the Air Force reported launches of Russian ballistic and cruise missiles. The Ukrainian military said Russia had launched more than 70 missiles and more than a hundred drones at Ukraine, targeting its energy system. Ukrainian air defense forces managed to shoot down more than 50 missiles and a significant part of the drones.

The head of the military administration of the Kharkiv region, Oleg Synegubov, said that half a million households were left without electricity, heating or running water following at least twelve rocket attacks on facilities industrial and critical infrastructure in Kharkiv. At least six civilians were injured.

“Since this morning, the Russian army has been massively attacking the Dnipropetrovsk region. The enemy is trying to destroy the region's power grid,” also said the governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Serhiy Lyssak. The strikes left at least one dead, he said.
