Affectionately nicknamed « Pierrot », Pierre Labat died during the night from Saturday to Sunday at the age of 88. Former full-back for the Girondins de Bordeaux, he was especially renowned for his role as assistant manager of the training center from the club to the scapular, evidenced by its importance in the emergence at the highest level of French world champions Zinédine Zidane, Bixente Lizarazu and Christophe Dugarry.
A short-lived member of Élie Baup's staff in the early 2000s, the memory of the trainer was warmly welcomed by the Girondins : « Educator, training center assistant, goalkeeper coach, professional observer, then assistant coach, he marked the history of the Girondins with his passion and dedication. Pierrot contributed to the development of the greatest players in the club's history and will remain in everyone's hearts. Thanks for everything, Pierrot.
