Accident on the A16 near : two injured

Auteuil, Oise – December 22, 2024. On this wintery day, a road accident disrupted traffic on theA16 motorway towards . Two vehicles collided near the town of Auteuil, south of causing complications for motorists and mobilizing significant emergency resources late in the afternoon.

A shock at the end of a hectic day

It was on the afternoon of December 22, 2024 that the Oise firefighters were alerted for an incident involving two cars. The events took place on a portion of the A16 motorway, a major road linking the north of to the capital. Following this accident, two people, whose identities have not been released, were injured. Emergency services quickly provided them with the necessary care.

Fortunately, the victims' vital prognosis was not in jeopardybut the latter were still transported to a hospital center for additional examinations.

Difficult traffic, gradual return to normal

This accident also caused significant inconvenience for drivers using theA16 motorway. For almost two hours, slow traffic was reported in the Beauvais-Paris direction, forcing the teams on site to manage the flow of vehicles. It was only in the early evening, around 8 p.m., that traffic was able to return to normal.

Lane closures are unfortunately common on this section of the motorway, particularly during school holidays when many users are traveling towards large towns.

Call for caution on the roads

As the end-of-year holidays approach, this incident once again reminds us of the importance of vigilance while drivingespecially on busy roads like the A16. Fatigue, loss of concentration or weather conditions can quickly cause accidents with serious consequences.
