One dead and ten injured in Russian strikes in Ukraine

Ukrainian authorities indicated this Sunday, December 22, that one person was killed and 10 others injured by Russian attacks between Saturday and Sunday.

The governor of the Kherson region, in the south of the country, Oleksandr Prokudin, notably announced the death toll of one dead and six injured on Sunday morning. According to him, Russia struck the west bank of the Dnieper River using glide bombs, artillery, and a ballistic missile strike.

In the Dnipropetrovsk oblast, a little further north, Governor Serhi Lysak indicated that the town of Nikopol and its surroundings were targeted by bombings on Saturday. Three people were injured, including a 16-year-old boy, authorities say.

Vladimir Putin received the Slovak Prime Minister

Russian President Vladimir Putin received Prime Minister Robert Fico at the Kremlin in Moscow this Sunday. A meeting during which the two leaders discussed the issue of gas. For Robert Fico, this trip was made in response to the desire of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky not to renew the agreement allowing Russian gas to transit through Ukraine to supply certain European countries, including Slovakia.

Russian natural gas continues to be transported to some European countries via Ukraine, under a five-year agreement signed before the war. Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed that the Russian Federation is ready to continue supplying gas to the West and Slovakia, which is practically impossible after January 1, 2025, taking into account the position of the Ukrainian President said Robert Fico.

Australian national captured by Russian armed forces

The Australian government launched an investigation this Monday, December 23, after the broadcast on social networks of a video reporting the capture of a 32-year-old Australian national by Russian armed forces in Ukraine.

In the video, the man, with his hands tied, explains that he is a biology professor living in Australia and Ukraine.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Monday judged the video worrying ensuring that the Australian embassy in Moscow and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were investigating it.

Donald Trump says Vladimir Putin wants to speak with him “as soon as possible”

The American president-elect, Donald Trump, assured this Sunday, December 22, during a meeting in Arizona, that Russian President Vladimir Putin wanted to speak with him as soon as possible . President Putin said he wanted to meet with me as soon as possible declared Donald Trump. So we have to wait. But we must end this horrible, horrible war he added.

As during his presidential campaign, he also reiterated that the war would not have happened if he had been in the White House. We need to stop this, it's ridiculous. This war would never have happened if I had been president.
