Saturday evening, at the Bell Centre, the Montreal Canadiens offered their fans a convincing 5-1 victory against the Detroit Red Wings. If Patrik Laine stole the show with another power play goal, this evening had a special flavor for Alexandre Carrier, who played his first home match with the Habs.
Freshly arrived from Nashville, Carrier did not hide his enthusiasm after the meeting.
I was feverish, I was excited and I was a little nervous. It's part of the process. I've been a professional for several years and I know how to handle this. So, I try to make the most of it.

The Quebec defender also highlighted the warm welcome the Canadians gave him, both on and off the ice.
The Canadians helped us a lot. I think we only paid for seven tickets out of pocket. It was still a surprise, the tickets are a little more expensive than Nashville. It was a beautiful evening.

In addition to the first point in the CH uniform for the Quebecer, other players distinguished themselves in this meeting. Patrik Laine continued his dominance on the power play, setting a new NHL record, while Brendan Gallagher, Juraj Slafkovsky et Emil Heineman also all scored a goal. Samuel Montembeault, in front of the net for a second consecutive night, added a solid performance with 20 saves to his record.
The Canadian will try to continue his winning streak Monday night against the Blue Jackets in Columbus. It will be a return to Columbus for Laine.
