Ivan Demidov whipped by Kent Hughes' visit to Russia

Despite a difficult first half of the season for the Montreal Canadiens, certain aspects have been more positive since the return to play of the star forward, Patrik Laine.

Even if the Montreal organization lost its flag against the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Winnipeg Jets last week, the last two games against the Buffalo Sabers and the Detroit Red Wings were more fruitful for Martin St. Louis and his men.

However, with a sad collection of only 29 points (12-16-3) in 32 games so far this season, Habs fans are already starting to think about next season and the arrival of the solid Russian hope, Ivan Demidov.

As for the latter, he is having a more than interesting season with SKA. St. Petersburg, in the KHL, despite his occasional lack of use from his coach.

However… things seem to be improving in the last few days.

Indeed, as we reported to you earlier this week, the general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes, was in Russia with Vincent Lecavalier in order to spy on their young gem.

However, since the transition from senior management to the Habs, things seem to be more than positive for Demidov.

First, on Thursday, Demidov had a match and, under the watchful eyes of his future GM took the opportunity to score a goal with a superb shot into the top corner, leaving the opposing goalkeeper no chance.

Then, today, while playing another game, Demidov took advantage of a clever pass to tie the score with a perfect one-timer!

As reported Matt Drake away I am fil Twitter/Xgive Ivan Demidov some ice time and he will score several!

What's more, proof that Demidov's status is changing within his training; the latter was even used on the first trio during the game.

Let's say that the stay of Kent Hughes maybe that has something to do with it!
