A criminal case took an unexpected turn thanks to an image captured by Google Street View. In Spaina man and a woman were arrested for the alleged murder of a thirty-year-old man, who went missing in November 2023, in the province of Soria, Castile and León. It all started with a complaint filed by a relative of the victim, a 33-year-old Cuban, according to El País. The investigators, after focusing their efforts on the victim's relationships, uncovered overwhelming clues, reports 20 Minutes.
A disturbing image
The decisive starting point? A image de Google Street View which shows the main suspect, nicknamed “the wolf of Tajueco”. The latter was loading a large white bag into the trunk of his car. The shape of the bag suggested that it could contain a body. This photo, visible on the mapping application, guided the authorities in their investigations. At the beginning of December, research led to the discovery of a human torso in an advanced state of decomposition in the cemetery of a locality in Soria. Although formal identification is still pending, authorities believe it is likely the victim.
Suspects in custody
On November 12, the missing man's partner and one of his former partners were arrested in Soria. Placed in pre-trial detention, they are suspected of having played a key role in this affair.
