We are there. After two weeks of votes, the 2024 NM Gold Games are now closed. As usual, let us thank you for your participation and for giving some of your time to this initiative. We have certainly just spent the last year dedicated exclusively to the Nintendo Switch, but this almost eight-year-old console still has things to show for it. Which games were the best in each category according to YOUR votes? The result can be seen below.
Congratulations to The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Paper Mario: The Millennium Door et Unicorn Overlord who each won several prizes. Far from being a coincidence since these are the same three games which had your votes for the NM d'Or for the best game of the year. Congratulations are less in order for Princess Peach: Showtime! Winner of the most anticipated game last year, the final proposal probably did not convince you. With relative surprise, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is definitely the most anticipated game for 2025 on Nintendo media. We want the pleasure of watching the rest of the rankings. But we still have one more prize to give away. According to Nintendo-Master members who voted, what is the best game released on Nintendo Switch this year? 1er: Unicorn Overlord – 34,6%
2nd: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – 30,8%
3rd: Paper Mario: The Millennium Door – 21.2%
Blank votes: 13.4%
It was very close, much closer than in previous years, but the verdict is in. For the first time in the history of NM Gold Games, it is not a game published by Nintendo that wins the ultimate prize. Congratulations to Unicorn Overlord who wins this edition of the NM d’Or Games. For some, this will be a sign that the games from our favorite manufacturer lacked ambition. For others, the sign that yes, Nintendo players like third-party games and are not closed to games that do not bear the Big N brand. Do not hesitate to comment on the results with joy and good humor.
