The FFF announced this Saturday, five hours before the 32nd final of the Coupe de France between Tours and Lorient, the cancellation of the match. Security reasons are mentioned.
A surprising announcement, especially with such timing. The FFF indicated this Saturday, at 1 p.m. sharp, that the Coupe de France round of 32 match between Tours (R1) and Lorient (L2), scheduled for 6 p.m., is canceled for security reasons.

Will the match be played later?
“The prefecture of Indre-et-Loire and the town hall of Tours noted that FC Tours was not able to put in place a system to guarantee the holding of the match in terms of welcoming the public. Consequently, the decision was taken in consultation with the stakeholders to cancel the meeting,” indicates the federation.
Stating that “spectators are asked not to go to the Vallée du Cher stadium” (8,000 people were expected), the FFF leaves the rest of the events unclear. “The Organizing Commission of the Coupe de France will examine the follow-up to be given,” it only indicates.
According to the New Republic, a relative of the owner of the Touraine club wanted to revise the security system downwards in recent days – to save money – except that the new organization was rejected by the Prefecture. And it’s impossible to go back to the initial plan at the last minute. A scenario which therefore implies direct responsibility of Tours FC in this fiasco. From there to lead to his defeat on the green carpet?
