It was Rachel Khan who won the 1st literary prize awarded by the jury of the Edgar Faure association, for her book Still Standing: The Republic at the Test of Words, published by Éditions de l'observatoire.

Just reward awarded last December 9 in the Senate for this touch of everything who began his career as a high-level athlete (athletics), with training as a lawyer, to then move towards politics (first environmentalist then macronist) before establishing herself in cinema and theater as an actress.

We already knew her writing qualities (she was the one who wrote Jean-Paul Huchon's speeches at the time), here she is now recognized with this 2024 Edgar Faure Prize where she succeeds the very media-oriented Yann Moix, winner of the year last.

Tribute to the statesman

Since 2007, the Edgar Faure Prize, created in tribute to Edgar Faure, politician, but also author of detective novels and songs, a jury composed of personalities from political, economic and intellectual circles meets annually to honor the quality of political works..

This 17th edition, chaired by Rodolphe Oppenheimer, grandson of Edgar Faure, counts among its jurors Michel de Rosen, Vincent Prieux, Dominique Faure, Bernard Granger, Eric Naulleau, Jean Hingray, Anne Fulda, Caroline Haddad-Farhana, Jean- Philippe Morel, Viviane Neiter, Rodolphe Oppenheimer, Marie-Gite Dufay, Ludovic Perney, Jean-Philippe Pierre, Frédéric Potier, 2022 winner of the Edgar Faure prize, David-Xavier Weiss, Antoine Santoni.

The winners of the awards for committed work and “Edgar’s Eyes” were also announced.

The Jury Prize

Together, they honored Rachel Khan with the Jury Prize for her book Encore Debout (Éditions de l'Observatoire). With a touch of irony, Rachel Khan criticizes those who overuse the terms “Islamophobia”, “police violence”, “wokism”… and symbolically summons them before an imaginary court.

These words, which the author believes are often used excessively, fuel victimization, fear and political cowardice, while exacerbating divisions within our society and weakening democracy in an already shaken world.

Price of the work entered

The Committed Work Prize rewarded Frédéric Dabi and Brice Soccol for their book Parlons-nous tous lasame langue (Éditions de l'Aube). In this work, the authors meditate on , which today appears to be a fractured country.

Edgar's Gaze Prize

Finally, the Le Regard d'Edgar Prize, awarded by Internet users, was awarded to Béatrice Brugère for Justice – the anger that rises (Éditions de l'Observatoire), tied with Fabrice Haccoun for Let's turn the lights back on… To get out of France of darkness (Éditions de l'Archipel).
