On BFMTV, Wolfgang, a resident of Magdeburg, recounted what he experienced when a car drove into the crowd gathered for the Christmas market.
“Suddenly, I heard my colleague say 'something's happening.' There was commotion in the street, people with children looking for shelter, we immediately wondered what happened,” he described.
“We asked people what was happening. They told us 'a car drove into the crowd',” Wolfgang told BFMTV, noting that “the children were crying.”
“My colleague and I were in this complex situation. We made sure that the town hall was a safe space. Sirens sounded in the streets, there were alarms. Suddenly a crowd of people flocked to the streets: police, ambulance trucks, etc… Since then, I have left Magdeburg but I have seen a lot of emergency cars and fire engines,” continued Wolfgang.
