Aldi product urgently recalled

This product, sold under the Portland brand in Aldi storesis the subject of an urgent recall due to exceeding the authorized limits of pesticides. The recalled products are packaged in 50 gram boxes.
The batches concerned are P202469 (DLC 05/31/2027) and P201042 (DLC 04/30/2027) and have a GTIN code: 2006050101313. Marketed between June 10, 2024 and December 9, 2024, they recently worried the authorities .
These Aldi products have seen the light of day in several French regions. Namely: Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Burgundy-Franche-Comté, Centre-Val de Loire, Hauts-de-France, Île-de-France, Normandy, New Aquitaine, Occitanie, Pays de la Loire. And Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur.
A health risk
The problem identified in these batches of ground turmeric concerns the excessive presence of chlorpyrifos. This is a pesticide whose use remains strictly regulated. Although this pesticide is used in agriculture to control insects, its excess can cause health risks for consumers.
Chlorpyrifos remains particularly problematic due to its potential effects on the nervous system. But also its impact on long-term health. Especially when you ingest it in quantities exceeding legal standards.

If you have purchased this product, please note that you should no longer consume it or use this ground turmeric. You must return the affected products to their Aldi point of sale. The distributor undertakes to refund the products in full returned, even in the absence of a receipt.
