After a first edition of taking information and the corrections made after a ” return of participant grievances in 2023 », this second opus begins differently, because a partnership has been established between the organizers and this French company whose à la carte cycling is its mantra.
After Marly in the “Zone des dix Muids”, then Somain, the company “Origine” set up in December 2023 after 2 and a half years to finalize this project. Today, with 125 employees, Origine is in full development in the “ 100% configurable bike. We have no intermediaries and the customer can come to us to adapt their bike to their size, we do tailor-made products. The bike adapts to the customer and not the other way around as with mass production. Of course, we have 80% of our orders on the internet, but software adapts the order with your physical characteristics. A complete bike is available between 4 and 5 weeks after ordering », comments Fabien Fournier, the Sales Director of the Origine company.
The cycling community is a small world where many know each other and as an inevitable chance encounter, the Origine company is today a partner in the organization of the Grand Prix de Denain, a cycling sports version, because “ this is our core customer base, racing bikes, VVT, and today Gravel in full growth », adds Fabien Fournier.
Three different routes
For this new version, the “ Denain Grand Prix, Challenge by Origine » offers 3 courses : One of 30 km, one of 60 km, both without cobblestones and the referenced 100 km cyclo-sport with 10 paved sectors, only 3 sectors less than the professional race 4 days later, not bad. Please note, two refreshments will be provided during this cycle, a rare service for this type of event. The cost of registration is €4 for the 30 or 60 km course and €15 for the cycle. “ Registrations are possible on our website https://gpdenain.fr/s-inscription/ and via the Helloasso network », specifies Philippe Cauffiez, Mr. Safety and the project manager of this sports cycle.
The originality of this edition also lies in the place of departure and arrival, it will be the Origine company site in Rouvignies where an open day will be organized, bike testing, showroom…, a royal welcome! “ We hope for more than 500 participants, compared to 450 last year », he adds.
