Unsurprisingly, food is one of the most affected items with prices 70.1% higher on average compared to France. On this food post, these are theai, cheeses and eggs, as well as sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery which would show the most notable differences. Meat, fish and seafood, breads and cereals, however, present differences “more limited” still according to the press release.

Without its precise composition being detailed, it is the communications sector which displays the most striking difference (+ 164%). The restaurant and hotel sectors also show significant differences with prices on average 42.8% higher.

Other sectors, however, show prices lower than those in mainland France. This is the case for alcoholic beverages and tobacco, 8.7% cheaper than in mainland France. The prices of various goods and services show an even more significant drop of 27.1%.
