The first autopsy did not give all the answers expected by Lina’s family. But after additional assessments requested by the two investigating judges, the cause of the teenager’s death seems to become clearer.
Lina, 15 years old, disappeared on September 23, 2023 not far from Plaine (Bas-Rhin) and found dead a year later in a stream in Sermoise-sur-Loire (Nièvre), would have been strangled by a fabric bag, type “tote bag”, according to the results of forensic analyses. Information revealed by our colleagues from Latest News from Alsace.
Indeed, fragments of fabric were found on the teenager’s neck. Enough to support the theory of death by strangulation. Furthermore, still according to the DNA, the analyzes would not have led us to believe that Lina suffered other violence, whether physical or sexual.
The investigation determined that Lina had boarded the vehicle of Samuel Gonin, the only suspect in this case. The latter will never be able to release the many secrets surrounding the affair, he who committed suicide at his home in Besançon (Doubs) in July.
When requested, the Strasbourg public prosecutor’s office did not respond to our requests. A press conference to formalize all this information was to be held on Friday, December 20 but was ultimately canceled.
