Oscar Cortesa promising player, joined RC in the summer of 2023 for an amount estimated at 4.5 million euros, from Millonarios. The Colombian club belongs to Joseph Oughourlian, president of Lens. However, Cortés only played four games for Lens, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

Last February, he was loaned to Glasgow Rangers where he still plays. Although he was injured for several weeks, he recently returned to the squad in a Europa League match against Tottenham, which ended 1-1. The Rangers are considering extending their collaboration with the player.

According to journalist Julián Capera, the Scottish club is in talks with Lens to exercise the purchase option provided for in Cortés’ loan. The amount of this option, however, remains unknown. The journalist states that “the technical staff of the Scottish club are convinced of the winger’s contribution to the project, given his good performances during his loan, despite the injury. »

Millonarios, for their part, will retain 20% of the rights to the player, which guarantees them a financial share of the transaction. In addition to this, they will receive compensation for Cortés’ training rights. These terms have been clarified as part of ongoing discussions between the clubs.
