the Pelicot family arrives in court before the verdict for the 51 accused

Having left to deliberate on Monday noon, the criminal court, made up of a president and four assessors, will pronounce the verdict from 9:30 a.m., normally.

The accused will be called one by one, starting with Dominique Pelicot. The court will rule on the guilt of each person, giving reasons for its decision, then the sentence. On Monday, the accused who appeared free were invited to present themselves this Thursday with a suitcase in the event of a committal warrant.

If convicted, they will be handcuffed and then taken by a police escort to the court’s jails, before being placed in detention.
