Second fire

The Sainte-Claire residence was engulfed in flames for the first time last February. At the time, the fire was considered suspicious. The disaster required the evacuation of several people. The residence subsequently closed.

The fire at the former Sainte-Claire residence is also the second fire to occur in the Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Allégresses district in two days. On Tuesday, around fifty firefighters were deployed to fight a fire which broke out in the afternoon in an apartment building on rue Laviolette.

Three people were evacuated and one of them had to be taken to hospital.
