A word from the 2024 winner, Philippe Terral

How did you get started in motorcycles?

Philippe Terral: When I was a child I worked with my father restoring old machines, it gave me a passion for motorcycles, I just wanted to continue and deepen all that, I went to a vocational high school to do a Baccalaureate, then a BTS motorcycle. It was my vocation from the start with Yamaha, already during my Bac internships it was already with Yamaha, I did the BTS with them alternately, and with the BTS obtained the logical soot from the start.

How did you prepare for the NTGP 2024?

Philippe Terral: Initially I didn’t believe it much, I had done the qualifications one evening at home and then knowing that I had been qualified, I revised the courses a little, reviewed a little certain technicalities, reviewed certain things and a priori it paid off.

Was the last test with the bikes a surprise?

Philippe Terral: It was a total surprise, I don’t ride a bike at all, I knew them because I follow the rest of the brand but I have never worked on them or worked on the bike at all, a great first but a very good surprise.

Next is Europe?

Philippe Terral: Next is Europe in Amsterdam, I don’t know what awaits me, I have to revise my English excessively, that leaves me 4 months to learn English (laughs).
