It’s an expected trial. The managers of Rêve de la Patte d’Or will appear this Wednesday, December 18 at the Avesnes-sur-Helpe court.
This Wednesday, December 18 at 9:30 a.m., the trial of the Rêve de la Patte d’Or breeding farm in Louvignies-Quesnoy begins. On the stand are 6 women, breeders and veterinarians, for acts of serious abuse or act of cruelty towards a domestic, tame or captive animal. But also illegal practice of medicine or surgery on animals. Or even whitening.
Already postponed, then scheduled for July 10, the trial was once again postponed until the end of the year.
Reminder of the facts alleged in the Dream of the Golden Paw
March 8, 2023, searches! The public prosecutor indicated that he had seized more than 400 animals, notably in Louvignies-Quesnoy, at the Rêve de la Patte d’Or breeding farm. In his press release, he explained that numerous interventions had been carried out on Wednesday March 8 on six different sites (four located in the district of Avesnes and two in the district of Amiens).
The magistrate also specified that many services were working jointly on this file, including the central office for combating attacks on the environment and public health (OCLAESP), the departmental directorate for the protection of populations in the North (DDPP) , the Avesnes-sur-Helpe gendarmerie company, the Somme gendarmerie group, four dogs, digital specialists, the national veterinary investigation brigade and the animal protection society (SPA). The number of agents mobilized for this investigation – more than a hundred announced – suggested that this was indeed a particularly serious and large-scale case.
During the operations, 379 breeding dogs, three farm animals, around fifty birds and two exotic animals falling into the category of new pets were apprehended, subjected to a veterinary check and entrusted to the SPA. Several animals, untransportable, were euthanized on site.
