A vast sports complex will be created in Saint-Lambert-de-Lauzon thanks to a partnership between the municipality and a private consortium which will invest tens of millions of dollars for construction.
The new building which will be erected at the corner of rue du Pont and rue Saint-Aimé will notably house two large indoor ice rinks. NHLa training room, multifunctional rooms, a restaurant and a golf ball hitting area.
In order to create a real sports hub for the municipality, Saint-Lambert-de-Lauzon will also move certain leisure infrastructures to the edge of the complex, where there will now be an outdoor ice rink, a ball hockey surface and an ice ring. .
It will undoubtedly be the largest sports complex in Chaudière-Appalaches in terms of infrastructure and services.

A private construction
First purchased by the municipality, the vast land on which the new complex will be built was sold to the consortium which will become manager of the complex. Saint-Lambert-de-Lauzon also transferred certain outdoor equipment to the developer, in particular ice rink boards.

Marmax will, however, cover all construction costs, amounting to several tens of millions of dollars. The final price will be determined based on the addition or not of other exterior infrastructures, explains Louis Simard, who was previously general manager of the 2 glaces Honco complex in Lévis.
The latter explains that it is mainly the rental of ice hours that will allow private investors to make their investment profitable. The holding of municipal sporting and cultural events at the new complex should also be profitable for the developer.
Inauguration in 2026
As for the opening of the complex, Louis Simard and the municipality announce it for 2026. A first shoveling of earth will take place on March 28.
