Do you know the Golden Helmet ? It is a reward which each year crowns the best apprentice in his region trained in the building trades, whether through school or apprenticeship. Organized jointly by the French Building Federation (FFB) and the apprentice training center (CFA), this event promotes the fundamental values ​​of the profession: learning, the transmission of knowledge, professional training and team spirit.

Aged 26 ans, Dylan Foucambert works in the family business Desprezbased in Feuquières-en-Vimeu (). At the helm, we find the father, David, and his two sons, Bastien et Thibautat the head of a team of around twenty employees. This young apprentice won the Golden Helmet, thus distinguishing himself among the technicians.

Change of course during Covid

After experiences in the plastics industry and the glass sector, Dylan changed direction while the epidemic of Covid paralyzes the world. He decides to return to his first loves : plumbing. Convinced after an interview, he tried his luck with a work-study contract two years in his new business and CFA of as a plumber installer.

“Learning on the job is the best school,” says Bastien Desprez. Dylan discovered with his tutor, Thibaut Desprezanother way of working. Passionate about his profession, he was promoted at the end of his course, an unexpected result but honoring the craft profession and making his company proud. “A motivated young person who takes initiatives, it is thanks to them that businesses develop,” assures Bastien. Dylan, proud and humble, thanks his trainers and emphasizes that his perseverance and his work earned him a job within the Desprez company. “This distinction will bring me recognition and motivation,” he confides.

The Desprez family business, founded in 2008specializes in electricity, plumbing and heating for individuals, communities and businesses. It diversified by creating an industrial electrical repair unit. Well structured, the company covers several areas of activity and has expanded its offering with gate motorization. Dylan, now independent, is involved in troubleshooting and appreciates the varied contact with customers. He successfully completed his technical training in handling refrigerant fluids on the first try, a skill that requires dexterity and advanced knowledge. “I am grateful to the company that trusted me,” adds Dylan, who was able to seize the opportunity and bounce back in the middle of the Covid crisis. The Desprez company recently welcomed several new apprentices in different fields.
