establishment of new cooperation projects between Luzhou and Taiwan

Luzhou City held an exchange session on October 15 and 16 aimed at helping Taiwanese investors and entrepreneurs discover and seize opportunities offered by the economic development of southern Sichuan Province (southwest China). China).

The Luzhou Taiwan Investors and Enterprises Association was established on this occasion in the presence of around a hundred guests, including officials from the National Taiwan Investors and Enterprises Association on the Chinese mainland, and Taiwanese associations from several other cities such as Chengdu, Xiamen, Suzhou, Zhongshan, and Zibo.

Located in southern Sichuan, Luzhou, which is a transportation hub between Yunnan Province, Guizhou Province and Chongqing Municipality, also has easy access to rail transportation as well as river transportation on the Yangtze River.

Since the establishment of the first Taiwanese-owned company in Luzhou in 1988, more Taiwanese companies have come to settle there to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the city’s economic development.

A batch of eight cooperation projects were established during the exchange session, worth a total of 1.68 billion yuan ($236 million). The city also organized tours to the Sichuan Free Trade Zone to introduce guests to industries, agriculture, tea and bamboo cultivation, cultural tourism, local business environment, as well as opportunities for cooperation with locals.
