This event risks disrupting the statistics of trains arriving on time in Belgium…

Almost no trains were running at Tournai station on Wednesday morning following the tearing of a catenary, reports Infrabel, the company which manages the railway infrastructure. There is no longer a possible connection to Mouscron nor to , in , nor to Leuze-en-Hainaut, for the line which goes to Brussels. However, trains continue to run normally towards Mons.

For a reason still unknown, a train carried out a maneuver which tore off a catenary, at around 5:30 a.m., in Tournai. An incident which has “big consequences”, according to Infrabel. There are in fact almost no trains running at Tournai station anymore. There are therefore no longer any convoys heading towards Mouscron or Lille, in France. As for the line to Brussels, it is disrupted between Tournai and Leuze-en-Hainaut. However, trains are running normally towards Mons, with part of the station not being affected by the disruptions.
