A 30-year-old woman has filed a complaint for rape against a nurse at Sainte-Anne Hospital (14th arrondissement of Paris), where she was staying, AFP learned on Thursday, September 5 from a police source. The alleged victim, hospitalized for three weeks in a psychiatric ward of the hospital group, accuses a nurse of having taken advantage of the fact that she was exhausted and weak, under the influence of medication, to take her to a room without a surveillance system. Contacted by AFP, the hospital center had not responded at this stage.
He then allegedly made inappropriate gestures and words, according to the complainant, before caressing her, kissing her and then raping her, without a condom. The events she is reporting allegedly took place at the end of August. The Brigade of Delegations and Local Investigations is in charge of the case.
An internal investigation opened
Asked by AFP, the university hospital group (GHU) to which Sainte-Anne belongs, assured that “The testimony of a sexual assault, which occurred in a healthcare setting, collected from a patient was taken very seriously by the institution.” “Several conservative measures were immediately taken. A specific protocol applies in the establishment in cases of this nature, which call for vigilance from all teams.”adds the GHU.
“In addition to listening to and supporting patients and their families in their efforts, the professional in question is suspended as a precautionary measure, or, in the case of temporary staff as is the case here, his missions with his employer are cancelled.”he explains, assuring that the facts had been “reported to the public prosecutor” and that an internal investigation was opened. “The hospital is at the disposal of justice”he concluded.
