The young man is suspected of being behind a fatal attack on an 80-year-old man who was walking his dog in a park.
A 14-year-old boy will appear before Leicester Youth Court on Thursday, September 5, on suspicion of murder after the death of an 80-year-old man on Sunday in a park in the central English city.
Several arrests
According to British media including Sky News, the victim, Bhim Kohli, aged 80, was attacked while walking her dog in Franklin Park, on the outskirts of the city. He was seriously injured before succumbing to his serious injuries on the evening of the same day.
As the same source reports, an autopsy carried out by the authorities showed that the octogenarian was fatally injured by a wound to the neck. Further tests are now awaited.
In addition, on Tuesday, four other minors, girls and boys aged 12 to 14, were also arrested. They were released shortly afterwards and will not be prosecuted for the time being.

Bhim Kohli’s death has sparked intense emotion in Leicester, with the detective in charge of the case, Emma Matts, describing the circumstances as “extremely tragic and distressing.”
“At this stage, the family asks for respect for their privacy during this extremely difficult time,” she concluded, while the investigation continues in order to understand the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
Detectives working on the case “are working to establish all the circumstances surrounding the accident and are speaking with all the residents in the area to obtain as much information as possible,” police said in a statement.
She also revealed that the victim had already been in contact with her alleged attackers, but without giving further details.
