The Emirates city remains, for the second consecutive year, at the top of the index produced each year by the real estate consultancy company Savills.

Digital nomadism has become commonplace since the pandemic. And the adventure is not only tempting young people in the working world, it is also appealing to older executives. For the second year in a row, Dubai has retained its position as the most attractive city according to the latest index from Savills, a real estate consultancy that ranks the 25 favorite destinations of these remote workers each year. Visa, pleasant climate, infrastructure and dream homes are the criteria assessed.

The metropolis of excess, which aims to double the size of its economy to propel the rich Gulf country among the world’s leading financial centers, is closely followed by the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, which has gained two places in a year. This is thanks to the speed of its internet connection. Dubai remains at the top of the ranking due to « its impressive connectivity »its international airport being the busiest in the world for foreign travelers.

According to the study, nomadic executives sometimes travel with their families and are primarily looking for security, health and education, all in a comfortable living environment. It is therefore no surprise that coastal cities such as Malaga (Spain), Miami and Lisbon, continue to top the ranking. In 2024, new cities such as Palermo, Cape Town, and San José (Costa Rica) will be entering the rankings. Globetrotters appreciate their beaches as well as attractive rents and « a unique “vibe” », according to the term used to designate the atmosphere, the energy of a place.
