The man, who refused to evade a police check along Avenue du Prado, was the subject of a search warrant after taking advantage of a permit to escape. He does not have a driver’s license.

The Figaro Marseille

While trying to control the vehicle that had been driven onto Avenue du Prado this Saturday evening, the police officers from the Southern Division of Marseille were far from suspecting that they were in reality dealing with a prisoner on the run who was ready to take all the risks to lose them.

As reported in Figaro According to a police source, the police were positioned along the avenue for a control operation when they came across the driver of a vehicle committing a refusal to comply by refusing to stop. Against all expectations, the man then stopped before fleeing the scene by running, abandoning his car and his passenger.

He had not returned to detention

The police officers set off in pursuit, arresting him immediately after he had taken refuge in a building. While carrying out checks, the officers realised that this dangerous driver, who did not have a driving licence, was in fact the subject of a search warrant following his escape from a penitentiary centre. According to a source, the man had taken advantage of a leave of absence granted to him in detention to escape and not return to prison.
