Friday December 20, a man in his forties was the victim of a violent attack in Tinqueux, near Reims in the Marne. Transported to the Reims university hospital, he unfortunately died there.
The day after the events, five arrests took place in this case. This Monday, January 23, the Reims public prosecutor, François Schneider, indicates that the five accused, aged 23 to 33, will be referred to an investigating judge for “violence leading to death without intention to cause it”, “complicity”, “aggravated voluntary violence” et “failure to assist a person in danger”.
The prosecutor gives some details on the circumstances leading to this terrible conclusion. “After a drunken evening with friends, an argument broke out related to the behavior of a guest towards a young woman. The guest left and returned with several people, and blows were given to the victim who falls to the ground and is victim of violence again He dies after being hospitalized.
The representative of the prosecution specifies that the alleged perpetrators of the attacks “do not really dispute them but contradict each other on their seriousness”. This Monday morning, they were brought before an investigating judge with the two young women who accompanied them. A procedure which could then lead to their indictment.
