Two vehicles were set on fire late Sunday evening in the Montreal boroughs of Saint-Léonard and Côtes-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce.
The first fire was reported around 10 p.m., when a vehicle caught fire in the parking lot of the Langelier shopping center on the eponymous boulevard, near rue de Lotbinière.
When police officers from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) arrived, firefighters were already putting the flames under control.

Certain elements found on site suggest that it could be a fire of criminal origin, according to the SPVM.
The heavily damaged vehicle is considered a total loss, said SPVM spokesperson Mariane Allaire-Morin.
Around 12:30 a.m., another vehicle was burned in the parking lot of the Plaza Côte-des-Neiges shopping center, on Chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges, near Barclay Avenue.

Here too, the vehicle suffered heavy damage from the flames which affected another vehicle parked nearby.
In both cases, there were no injured or suspects arrested, according to the SPVM, which specified that the vehicles were towed for assessment.

Both files were transferred to the arson section which will have to shed light on the exact circumstances surrounding these two events.
As a reminder, the day before, shortly after 1 a.m., another vehicle was set on fire on rue Champ-d'Eau, near rue Bombardier, in the Saint-Léonard sector.
