The 25-year-old was sentenced to life in prison by a German court after brutally murdering a lookalike to fake her own death.
It is one of the strangest and most gripping murder cases in the country, reports the Daily Mail. Helped by an accomplice, Schahraban K., a 25-year-old beautician, brutally killed Khadidja O., a 23-year-old beauty influencer, who bore a strange resemblance to her.
The beautician was looking to “fake your own death and start a new life”prosecutor Veronika Grieser told local media last year.
She wanted to disfigure her to deceive investigators
To do this, Schahraban set out in search of lookalikes and young girls resembling her on Instagram with the aim of killing one and pretending to be her. She finally found the 23-year-old influencer, Khadidja, whom she lured into a car by posing as a beauty product supplier.
Schahraban planned to disfigure her double and make her own family believe she was dead. According to investigators, the beautician wanted to free herself from her loved ones with whom she was in conflict.
56 stab wounds
The investigation revealed that the influencer was taken to a wooded area in a black Mercedes where she was brutally attacked. Khadidja received no less than 56 stab wounds, in the chest, skull, neck and face, so as to be able to deceive investigators more easily, according to the Daily Mail.
The two accomplices then placed her body in the trunk of Shahraban's car, planning to pose as the victim and deceive her family.
Two crumpled notes written in Arabic were found in the vehicle and could suggest an occult ritual. They are black magic and are sometimes used in Iraq to bring misfortune to others.
Sentenced to life in prison
However, forensic examinations made it possible to identify the victim and uncover the plot imagined by the beautician. Schahraban and his accomplice Sheqir K. were arrested the day after the tragedy.
Following a year-long trial, the Ingolstadt Regional Court sentenced Schahraban and his accomplice Sheqir K., 26, to life in prison, concluding that the crime had been meticulously planned.
