Red lantern of Ligue 2, FC Martigues has decided to part ways with its coach Thierry Laurey. The Martégal club was quick to react by immediately looking for a potential successor. It was then that sports director Djamal Mohamed contacted Medhi Benatia to find out the availability of 1991 Ballon d'Or Jean-Pierre Papin.
In great difficulty in Ligue 2, the FC Martigues decided to turn a page. Currently last in the championship with only nine points collected in 16 matches, the club formalized this Monday the end of its collaboration with Thierry Laurey. Papin is going to Martigues
According to information revealed by Provence, Jean-Pierre Papin would hold the rope to take the reins of the team. The former emblematic striker of Marseille Olympic et Ballon d’Or 1991 could thus make his return to the sidelines, with the delicate mission of saving Martigues from relegation to National.
Benatia was contacted
