Red lantern in Division 1, Kingersheim Futsal is having a delicate season. Before traveling to Nantes this Saturday evening (9 p.m.), Selim Dridi, the sports director, remains confident for the future of his team.
Selim Dridi, how do you explain the current difficulties in Kingersheim?
The injuries to Moussa Haddad and Emmanuel Giovinazzo are a real handicap for the team. Morally, the players remain motivated, with the desire to fight to seek maintenance. They show self-sacrifice and don't give up. You need a victory to restart the machine.
You had nevertheless beaten the Kremlin-Bicêtre at the Palais des sports, but this had no effect.
We then faced Laval, one of the eight best teams in Europe. We then had injuries, suspensions, and refereeing was not always easy. In fact, we found ourselves in a negative spiral where nothing is going well. We don't hide, we are a team that is programmed to maintain. This is still the case this year…
Is the championship getting tougher and tougher?
That's a certainty. The clubs are becoming more and more structured, the level is increasing, we see it with the recent results of the Blues. Futsal is in full swing and it's more and more difficult for small clubs like us to create the feat.
Even if you only have three points, you are not defeated.
That's a good thing. Everything remains possible. We will adjust our squad at the start of the year and we hope to quickly be able to get back into the middle of the table.

It is rumored that you could get closer to the town of Belfort…
I actually met the mayor of Belfort, who is passionate about sport. In Kingersheim, it's more culture. Mulhouse does not seem interested in welcoming us. There remains the agglomeration, I don't forget that she made the Sports Palace available to us. We will see between now and the end of the season what possibilities there are for the club to take a step forward.
