CRAFTS: Laurette Michel receives the 2024 Regional Crafts Prize

The Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Burgundy Franche-Comté hosted this Monday, December 16, 2024 in Dijon the regional final of the Prix des Métiers d', an annual competition intended to celebrate the excellence and creativity of artisans from art of the region.

In Crafts, artistic professions contribute to the richness of our heritage and Burgundy Franche-Comté is no exception since it is full of talents, often unknown to the general public. It is in this sense that the BFC Chamber of Trades and Crafts wishes to highlight, each year, 8 departmental winners as well as 1 regional winner.

Over the last three months, the CMAs of each department have mobilized to organize this competition, focused this year on Contemporary Creative Professions.

Stonemason, cabinetmaker, ceramists, jewelers… many other trades were also represented in the hope of winning the 2024 Métiers d'Art Prize.

Last fall, the departmental qualifications allowed the winners to compete for the regional final this Monday, December 16, 2024. The 8 finalists then had the opportunity to present their works in front of a jury made up of passionate artisans and actors. of local economic life.

After a long deliberation, the 2024 Regional Art Craft Prize was awarded to

For his creation, “Infinite Love”.

This elegant and symbolic gold work, designed from an old wedding ring and enhanced by a diamond and 3 stylized birds, seduced the jury with its finesse, its history and its technicality. The opportunity for her to share her first impressions following the announcement of her victory: “It’s joy that comes first. It’s also the result of a lot of work, on this piece, but also over the years.”

The Prix des Métiers d'Art competition aims to highlight talented artisans who combine traditional know-how and artistic innovation. Laurette Michel's creation perfectly embodies these values, giving new life to a jewel full of emotion and history.

The BFC Chamber of Trades and Crafts would also like to congratulate all of the departmental winners for their talent and their commitment to artistic crafts.
