Toni Ruiz takes over as interim president of Mango following the death of Isak Andic (#1687999)

Mango CEO and vice chairman of the board Toni Ruiz will take over the duties of Isak Andic, who died in a mountain accident last Saturday, until a new chairman is appointed, the company said in a press release on Friday.

Toni Ruiz joined Mango in 2015 as CFO, a position he held until his appointment as CEO in 2018, and two years later he was named CEO of Mango, becoming “the first director of the company following the decision of Isak Andic to step down from executive management.

“Toni Ruiz has been the architect of Mango's transformation since its entry, achieving the best results in its history in 2023, with growth above that of the market and a healthy financial situation,” they explain.

The company assures that Mango “has a solid and stable corporate governance model, aligned with market standards and fully defined over the last two years”, formed by a Board of Directors, with 8 directors – four executives and four independent directors – and a Management Committee.

“The commitment of Isak Andic, founder of Mango, to professionalization and the implementation of best practices in corporate governance is the best guarantee to give continuity to the Strategic Plan which marks the sheet of road to Mango for years to come”, they add.

They recall that Toni Ruiz and Jonathan Andic, representing the Andic family and member of the board of directors, reiterated this week to Mango staff “the commitment to maintaining the spirit, vision and values ​​of Isak Andic to preserve his legacy.

The supreme controlling body of Mango is the Board of Directors, composed of CEO and Vice President Toni Ruiz (through his company Ionian Investments), Executive Directors Jonathan Andic, Daniel López and Margarita Salvans, and independent directors Jordi Canals, professor and president of the Center for Corporate Governance at IESE Business School, Jorge Lucaya, founding partner of AZ Capital, Jordi Constans, director and former director of various companies national and international, and the President and CEO of Puig, Marc Puig.

Eugenia Jover, head of Mango's legal department, is the non-director secretary of the board of directors.

The commercial management of the group is entrusted to the management committee, made up of 11 members representing the main sectors of the company: Toni Ruiz, CEO; Jonathan Andic, global director of Mango Man; Luis Casacuberta, director of products and sustainable development; César de Vicente, retail director; Elena Carasso, director of online sales and customer service; Daniel López, director of expansion and franchising; Blanca Muñiz, brand director; Jochen Grosspietsch, Director of Supply Chain; Jordi Álex Moreno, Director of Technology, Data, Privacy and Security; David Payeras, director of human resources; and Margarita Salvans, director of finance.
