“The repression is reaching indecent heights,” Kid Yugi wrote on Instagram about Tony Effe’s exclusion from the New Year’s concert in Rome.

The rapper, after being invited with Mahmood and Mara Sattei to perform in Rome at the Circus Maximus on the occasion of New Year’s Eve, was then killed without much compliment for the lyrics of his songs deemed violent and sexist.

Kid Yugi, who recently collaborated with Tony Effe in Pieces of 100, expressed his disappointment over what happened to his colleague.

« Since I shared the last post with Tony, I have received all the insults from fifty-year-olds who are delighted at his exclusion from the big New Year’s Eve concert. How bitter it is that you are stupid enough to think that by censoring an artist you can somehow stem some form of violence. The repression is reaching indecent heights. You scare me more than any aggressive music, you are truly the evil of this world.

Anyone agreeing to replace a censored colleague (in this context as in any other) is asked to stay away from me. You disgust me more than anything».
